I grew up on a 700a cash crop farm in the Ridgetown, ON area. After graduating from McMaster University for Mechanical Engineering I took over the family farm, expanding to 2100a by 2017.
Family tensions led me to make the tough decision to sell the farm and move to Prince Edward County with my wife and 2 boys (now 10 and 12) in 2020. After staying home during COVID to care for the kids while my wife worked as a nurse, I worked in ag retail as a Precision Ag Specialist/Operator.
I earned my CCA Candidate status in February 2024 and set out on my own as a Precision Ag Technology Service Provider and independant dealer for Ag Leader, which allows me to provide growers with the technology to implement their goals. But don’t worry, I support all brands.
I cover every step of the process, from the equipment to analysis, to prescriptions and in field validation.
In 2025 I started soil sampling independently to provide better data for zone delineation to drive variable rate seeding and nitrogen prescriptions. I use EC scanning, textural lab analysis, and any other field imagery or data available.
I am also partnered with Groundwork, as their soil sampling technique is similar to mine, but with much more sophisticated software. After I do a scan you have the option to use the data I have collected in their software, or have them come and do deep cores.
The most important part of 42 Agronomy is that I work for YOU! Not a fertilizer or seed retailer, and not an equipment company.
